1. ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS

Research Stay focused on  Neural Networks application and dynamic programming for inventory costs minimization.


The case of a drug distribution company was analyzed. The company spends a considerable amount of resources in the inventory of perishable products.  Novel forecasting methods were analyzed and proposed in order to reduce the inventory cost. These methods were based in Statistical Analysis and Neural Networks. Finally, the Neural Networks prediction presented a higher reduction in costs. 

This research is part of the work of the Information Technology  group, conducted by Dr. Amar Gupta:

Master of Science in Communications and Signal Processing. Thesis "An Algorithm for Calculating the Reduced Costs on a Graph.

In a graphic G=(V,E) with  V nodes and E arcs without direction it can be constructed a T tree of conection among all the nodes using  V-1 arcs. Having the minimmum associated cost (Minimum Spanning Tree). If any of the arcs belonging to T must be replaced, in order to have connectivity,  it is necessary to include a new arc that does not belong to T. In this thesis, it is presented a new algoritm in literature with better results in disperse graphics.

In the thesis  (Abstract) it is presented a new algorithm with better results for disperse graphics. This thesis is the background of the work  "An Algorithm to Compute Reduced Costs for Spanning Trees"  published by the  Laboratório Nacional de Computação Científica.in Brazil.

The  Long Range Navigation  Technologies (LORAN-C), Proximity and  Global Positioning System(GPS) are analyzed together with performance, communications and protocols  needed to design a terrestrial radiolocalization system. A programm for  LORAN-C that calculates    áreas de cobertura is included.
